Made It Monday
Here is the cup I painted when I was at my parents' place for the holidays. It was really fun to pick out what I would paint, both the surface and the subject. I knew I had limited time (3 fires, one per day) and so a fairly easy, graphic subject matter and small space were my requirements. My mother has a vast library of inspirational books. Somewhere along the way I decided I wanted to paint an insect so we pulled two books related to that and the Luna Moth caught my attention.
I like china painting and occasionally wonder about the possibilities of finding a group or class here in the area. My investigation thus far leads me to believe that groups meet in the middle of the day during the week. So, yeah, not terribly convenient for the folks with a 9-5 job. But maybe I can find something if I search a bit harder.
I also have a box of supplies, paints and such, at my parents' place. I had hoped to bring it back with me but with everything else I needed to pack up and bring back, it wasn't going to happen this trip. The supplies can be an investment and have changed in the intervening years so maybe I'll wait to find a group until I have that box of supplies with me.
Because I need one more art/craft thing in my life.
