More Calavera Pillows

I finished and mailed these calavera pillows this weekend. As I type they are moving east towards The Brother and The Sister-in-Law. I tried to keep the color scheme a bit less crazy as I don't know what might work with their new place. I made these as a housewarming gift for their first home purchase.

These are made from fleece remnants that I found at my local fabric store. I do hope they stay together. Sewing with fleece is definitely different than other materials. The nice thing about fleece is that you don't have to hem it; it won't unravel. The envelope backs are just raw edges, and that's OK. I did try to hem one of them but it looked terrible. Fleece is, technically, machine washable. But, again, with the hand sewn nature of these, that is probably not advisable. One is 14" square and the other is 16" square if I remember correctly.

Anyways, they're fun and they are done. Hooray!

 I love her crooked mouth.

I can't help but think of dreads when I look at this one. Which is pretty fun.

 The pair together.
Now on to the next skully sewing project. Yes, I've got one planned. For Christmas!
